The Best Christian Family Movies

Christian family movies are a great tool to help you in your faith walk. These movies are a terrific resource for parents to help them make wise decisions concerning what to allow their child to watch. Young minds are very impressionable, so parents have a special responsibility to ensure the media that influences their child is consistent with their values. These movies give a chance to the whole family to sit together and enjoying the show because there are no intimate scenes in these types of movies. Through these movies, they have shown us the real meaning of Christianity.

Here are some best Christian family movies:

The Passion of the Christ:  The story opens in the Garden of Olives where Jesus has gone to pray after the Last Supper. Betrayed by Judas Iscariot, the controversial Jesus--who has performed 'miracles' and has publicly, announced that he is the Son of God.

The Hiding Place: Corrie and Betsie ten Boom are middle-aged sisters working in their father's watchmaker shop in pre-World War II Holland. Their uneventful lives are disrupted with the coming of the Nazis. Suspected of hiding Jews and caught breaking rationing rules, they are sent to a concentration camp, where their Christian faith keeps them from despair and bitterness.

Luther: Biography of Martin Luther (Joseph Fiennes), the sixteenth-century priest who led the Christian Reformation, and opened up new possibilities in the exploration of faith. This movie begins with his vow to become a monk and continues through his struggles to reconcile his desire for sanctification with his increasing abhorrence of the corruption and hypocrisy pervading the Church's hierarchy.

The Nativity Story: In Nazareth, teenager Mary is betrothed to the local carpenter, Joseph. Mary is visited by an angel and told that she will fulfill a prophecy and as a virgin give birth to God's son, the savior of the world. Mary's pregnancy brings her the scorn of the community and Joseph struggles to believe her seemingly outlandish story. To know more about the Christian family movies, then click here
